Since Americans have roots in many countries of the world, their cuisine also bears the imprint of Italian, English, German and other cuisines of the world.
Pasta with lobster and shrimp, served with melted cheese and green onions, is reminiscent of Italy. Pork on the ribs, cut off from the backbone and grilled, makes you remember Germany. The dish is served with beans, mashed potatoes and, of course, chips. The cost of such dishes ranges from $20 to $30.
A feature of American cuisine is that foods and dishes have an overly muted taste, characteristic of “fast food”. This is offset by a large selection of different sauces. In a cafe, often sauces and seasonings are on a separate table – you should choose them yourself. Often, if you take a second course, it comes with a free portion of salad or soup. One of these additions is Tropical Salad – green lettuce is served with mandarin slices, peeled sunflower seeds and poured with sweet citrus sauce.
Tasting American cuisine, you involuntarily begin to understand this country better. It is hard to imagine how many nations can coexist peacefully in one place, gathered from all over the world, often radically different in mentality, traditions, and language. All this variety is brewed in one pot, resulting in something in between, but with a rich individual aftertaste. The most surprising thing is that the products of this “boiler” are distinguished by enviable durability, which deserves respect.
