The city of Niceville is home to one of the most noisy and fun national holidays – the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival. It will appeal to those who love country music, modern art and seafood dishes.
Interesting exhibitions and musical concerts are continuously held for three days, and there are many attractive open-air cafes on the streets. The main holiday treats are seafood dishes, among which there are quite exotic ones. Gourmets will be able to try the fried alligator tail, which is considered the most popular local delicacy.
No less remarkable for lovers of bright events is the Fantasy Fest festival held on the serene island of Key West, which can be compared in color to the New Orleans Mardi Gras. Unlike the latter, this holiday is held not in winter, but in autumn, and more specifically, in mid-October for ten days. At this time, the quiet city is transformed – the atmosphere of unbridled fun attracts like a magnet. It manifests itself in a varied and extensive program: a costume parade and a ball, body art, costume contests (including swimsuits), theatrical shows, performances, and, of course, noisy parties, without which it is difficult to imagine a holiday. Whatever costumes you can see here – each participant tries to make his attire as unusual and extravagant as possible (and there are usually about seventy-five thousand visitors).
