After winter frosts, in the spring the new fence can present an unpleasant surprise to its owners. Sometimes, if the pillars are not made correctly, they can be slightly raised, as a result of which the lifting gates and a gate for entering the entrance. This process is a fairly common phenomenon, and the cause of everything is soil, which, during cycles, freezing-freezing, can simply push the pillars up.
Fighting such a nuisance is better from the very beginning – that is, on the principle of “prevention is cheaper and easier to treat”. In this case, the supporting pillars should be correctly installed, and you also need to think about how to prevent them from pushing after frosts. However, you don’t have to do anything particularly difficult.
Metal pillars-caps are easiest to prepare. Professionals with extensive experience recommend simply welcome to each of them one or two metal plates. These plates will resist squeezing the supports from the soil, and the pillars will remain in place.
But not always the pillars for the fence make metal. In the event that the columns of the fence are made of another material, and the strips will not work for them, for example, if it is asbestos -cement pipes, they make a special special design, which is then inserted into them from below. This will require a strong and rather long reinforcing rod (or several rods), to which the plates mentioned above are welded. The reinforcement is inserted into the pipe, and after installation, concrete is poured into it. As a result, the pipe and design of the rod and plates will become one whole.
If the fence is light, temporary or small decorative, you can use the so -called “sliding” method. It consists in the fact that the lower part of the pipe is simply wrapped in several layers of roofing material. Thus, the pipe will not be pushed out of the soil even after severe frosts – the soil will simply slide up and down, and the pipe itself will remain in place.
By the way, if it is good to concrete the pit under the supporting pillars of the fence, without sparing materials, you do not need to resort to all these tricks.
